Operation Bluebird Renames TWITTER.NOW Platform to TWEET.APP

Court denies X Corp.’s attempts to stop Bluebird from use of  X’s former bird logo and Tweet trademarks.  Bluebird rebrands to Tweet.app and now has Double Birds. Tweet.app is LIVE today.

WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Operation Bluebird, Inc. today renamed its Twitter.now social platform to Tweet.app, hours after the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware issued a split ruling in X Corp.'s trademark suit against the company.  Chief Judge Colm F. Connolly denied X’s motion for a preliminary injunction as to TWEET and the bird logo, but granted X Corp.'s motion for a preliminary injunction as to the TWITTER brand. The Court found Operation Bluebird likely to succeed in proving that X Corp. abandoned its trademark rights in Tweet and the bird.

"And now we shall bid welcome to the Tweet brand and gradually, all the birds.” said Stephen Coates, President and General Counsel of Operation Bluebird. “To us, tweet is sweet."

Why the name. Operation Bluebird filed an intent-to-use application for TWEET with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on December 2, 2025, and has a cancellation action pending before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. The company said it will comply with the court's order regarding the Twitter name while the case proceeds to trial.  Bluebird avows to still fight for the TWITTER brand.

What changes for Founding members. Nothing but the name. Every handle, founder number and membership carries over unchanged.

Verification Technology. TWEET.APP will also have VERA, their verification technology. VERA is designed to add trust to what people read. It is built to show the source and the context behind a claim, and to let each user set a threshold for what appears in their feed. The platform is designed to be non-toxic: no rage-bait ranking, no black box. VERA is in early development and the company plans to release it soon.

"We believe in freedom of speech, not freedom of reach," Coates said. "We are not in the business of deciding what people are allowed to say. We are in the business of giving people the context to judge for themselves — and making sure bad actors lose amplification, not their voice."

More than 172,000 people requested handles before the company launched or spent a dollar on advertising. Handle reservations are open at [bluebird.social].

About Operation Bluebird, Inc. Operation Bluebird is a trust-infrastructure company rebuilding social media around verification rather than moderation, powered by its VERA veracity engine. Trust First. Operation Bluebird, Inc. is not affiliated with X Corp.
